Biography
Prof. Zhi-Song Liu is an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering Science, Lappeenranta–Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Finland, and co-leader of the Atmospheric Modeling Center Lahti (AMC-Lahti). His research spans generative AI, atmospheric science, computer vision, and climate modeling — with a focus on flow matching, neural operators, and physics-informed deep learning for air quality and climate applications.
Previously, he was a Principal Research Scientist at Dell EMC, a Research Fellow at CIHE (with Prof. Wan-Chi Siu), and a Post-doctoral Researcher at INRIA / LIX (with Prof. Marie-Paule Cani).
He received his Ph.D. (2016–2020) from PolyU, under the supervision of Prof. Wan-Chi Siu and Prof. Yui-Lam Chan, with research assistant experience alongside Prof. Lei Zhang.
